    It is specially 2,000 categories that causing memory problems.

    If you check your site console there is still jQuery error. At this time it is from Engage Buddy plugin.

    This is related to the Plugin Page builder.
    In one of the Panel Grid row, you have put margin-bottom: 1510px;.
    Remove it and it will be fine.

    Here are few process to create custom submenu.
    1. Create Child Theme
    2. Add code to register menu
    3. Add code wp_nav_menu, where you want to display the Menu

    If you are not developer, it may be difficult for you, so we recommend you to hire developer for this task or can contact us for customization.

    By default there is no options to create a splash page.
    But we think you can create splash page using the plugins like

    The options is available on the Widgets, you can enable and disable single Page link.
    “page links to” plugin is only used to redirect the page to another link.
